Mark Griffith is a recording artist, educator, and respected jazz historian. He received his Bachelors In Music Performance from William Paterson University’s Jazz Studies Program, and has spent his time since, touring the world doing the things that he loves: playing and teaching drums. Mark’s debut recording Drumatic. (Blue Jay Records) appeared on the jazz radio charts for over a year. For the last 15 years his feature articles regularly appear in Modern Drummer, Percussive Notes, UK’s Drummer! and Not So Modern Drummer. Recently, Mark collaborated with drumming legend Steve Smith (Journey, Vital Information) on two best selling instructional DVD’s released by Hudson Music: The Art Of Playing With Brushes, and Jazz Legacy: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants. Mark has also given clinics and master classes at New York City’s Drummer’s Collective, Boston’s Berklee School Of Music, Philadelphia’s University Of The Arts, and Newark’s School Of The Arts.
