Zachary Colla earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education with a concentration in Woodwinds from William Paterson University back in 2019. He is currently employed as a music teacher at Ocean Academy where he works with students with behavioral and cognitive disabilities. Zach has been a saxophone player for 17 years and is classically trained, but has branched out into many varying styles. He is also an accomplished woodwind player. Gerry Mulligan has inspired and shaped Zach the most out of any musician with the way he sounds and plays.
Zach’s goal in teaching is to create a fun engaging environment where students can grow and prosper. He believes that everyone is their own best teacher. He claims that he can give you the tools to do something but you are the one who has to discover how you use those tools. Colla loves to challenge students and push them to do better to see them succeed.
