Flute

Considered one of the earliest instruments, the iconic sound of the flute can be heard in classical orchestral music and in a resurgence in pop through Lizzo. It is one of the only members of the woodwind family that is not wooden, and its sound is not made by blowing into the instrument but by spreading across the mouthpiece to create vibrating air. As one of the favorite instruments of our instructors, we have many teachers to work on intonation, fingering, and embouchure to take your flute playing to any genre you’d like to learn- from jazz to classical to pop!
