Our teachers are not only working professional musicians but college trained educators from top music Universities.
Several of our teachers also work at local colleges and in the public schools. Our teachers are carefully chosen and background checked by our owner and director. Every Sweet Music Academy instructor is an employee of the academy and not simply some “teacher” who rents a space at a music store.

Through hard work and consistent instruction many of our students have attended and received scholarships to top music institutions such as Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Julliard School, Mason Gross, Rutgers University, Westminster College, University of Delaware, Temple University, Montclair University etc. Our students are routinely selected to participate in All-State, Regents, All-Shore Band and Chorus. Additionally our vocal and theater students are often chosen as the lead of their schools musicals and plays. Several of our students have been selected to appear on off television shows such as American Idol, and Americas Got Talent.
We do expect results from our students and are always honest and informative regarding a students progress.
We expect our students to practice regularly. While we are honest with our students our instructors are taught the philosophy of teaching using methods of encouragement rather than fear. It is our job to help students to reach their full potential and enjoy the process. We have designed specific level system curriculums and rewards programs that we know will help inspire and educate.

Sweet Music Academy’s 2600 square foot facility features a 1600 square foot state of the art Performance Center, and 10 professionally outfitted lesson rooms. We also have a comfortable waiting area and snack counter. Each lesson room has a window and parents are welcomed to look into the lesson rooms at any time. Your child’s safety and security is extremely important to us.
Our desk staff is friendly, knowledgeable and supportive.
We choose our desk staff with the same care in which we choose our teachers. While our teachers are fantastic at what they do we believe that there only focus should be teaching. We have assembled a superb front desk team to deal specifically with your questions, scheduling and billing needs.
We offer much more than private lessons.
We have a large number of recitals, concerts, ensembles, workshops, programs and performance opportunities for students of all levels and ages including young beginners and adults. In order to receive a complete music education it is highly recommended that students participate in these programs.
At Sweet Music you will not just learn how to play your instrument but you will receive a comprehensive music education.
There is much more to music than just playing. There is a language to music and while many people can play there instruments they are not necessarily knowledgeable about music. In fact many who “teach” music are not knowledgeable when it comes to music theory. At Sweet Music Academy you will receive a full music education that will include technique, repertoire, music theory, and music history.
In addition to teaching music we also rent, repair and sell instruments and accessories.
Unlike other “music schools” we are interested in helping you make the most informed choices when selecting equipment and not the most expensive choice. We have earned our reputation for our ability to educate and all of our other services are designed around that general principal.
